" Learn new words "
Hello everyone, I hope that everything is ok with you…
When I was surfing in the net I found a good issue, it’s about words that are not common with the most people.. some of them are new, perhaps you will be the first in your class to learn them…Anyway, I believe they will add something to your dictionary..
Freegan
Someone who eats only what they can get for free. Street kids and misers are largely freegan.( the word comes from vegan, which is someone who doesn’t eat meat or animal products).
Uptalk
You may do this yourself, but we hope not. Uptalkers turn up the last word or syllable og sentence to make it sound like a question even thought they are just making a statement. They will say " I’m going to school ?? " " I’ve lost my lunch ?? " I bought some sew shoes ?? " .
They are just statement of fact, but uptalkers make everything soud like a question. Weird !
Annoyican
1- an emotion
2- a logo that says in the corner of a television screen.
Cat typing
Typing in e-mails and elsewhere the is so bad, it’s almost unreadable.( like the random keystrokes made by a cat as it walks across a computer keyboard).
Hoplophobia
The fear of guns. You would say hat someone who is afraid of guns is a hoplophobia, and is hoplophobic.
Type-T- personality
Someone who regularly seeks out thrilling or dangerous experiences.
Earworm
A song or tune that keeps wriggling around in your mind after you’ve heard it on the radio, or TV. Sometimes you will hear someone whistle and it will keep coming into your mind even though you don’t want it to do. That’s a bad earworm. Earworms don’t have to be songs you like- they just have to be persistent.
Hurry sickness
A condition where a person feels.
Mc mansion
A big new home in incredibly bad taste.
Second-hand speech
Overheard mobile phone conversation.
Show dogging
Walking beside an attractive stranger to get people to think you know the person.
Cyber fossil.
Someone who spends too much time on the internet. (not like me)
Tanorexia
Addicted to getting a tan.
Flexitarain
A vegetarian who occasionally eats meat.
Extreme tourism
Travelling to trouble spots such as a country had wars.
Fur kid
A pet whose owner treats it as though it’s a child. Also : fur-kid , furkid.
Nanny-cam
A special video camera-so small you can hide it inside stereo equipment or a teddy bear- used for spying an baby-sitters.
Also : nanny cam, nanny cam.
Togethering
Taking a vacation with your family or a dew close friends.
Lunch rage
Becoming hyperactive or acting crazy after eating or drinking sth you are allergic to.
Skates
Australian slang for body peircings. People who have them are called skatters.
Critter cam
A camera attached to a wild animal.
Walking piňata
A person who is constantly criticized or ridiculed ( the second word, by the way, is pronounced pin-yar-ta )
